USTA/SCTA-sanctioned Novice tournament
October 14-15, 2006
High Desert Tennis Association sponsored its first USTA/SCTA sanctioned Junior Novice tournament October 14-15. Hesperia High School was the home of the tournament.
The Novice tourney was small but mighty. Cold and windy weather appeared challenging players to hang tight, which they did: there were no defaults.
Wrightwood coach Loren Jacobson entered six of his students in the competition; and four of them took home trophies. That's pretty impressive.
Jacobson is currently accepting new students who have reached or are approaching the Junior Satellite competition level of play. His contact number is 760-249-4107.
Players traveling from Tustin, Acton, and Yorba Linda, tested the mettle of local competitors and came away with four trophies. Complete results are as follows:
